Israel arrests Palestinian girl after soldier slapping video

Israeli forces arrested Wednesday a Palestinian girl in Nabi Saleh village, northwest of Ramallah, after a video footage showing her and a relative of hers slapping Israeli soldiers went viral on the internet.

Eyewitnesses said the 20-year-old Nour Nagi el Tamimi was detained after the forces stormed into her family's house.

Her father said her arrest was motivated by pressure practiced by Israeli media and officials.

The other girl in the video, the 17-year-old Aahd el Tamimi had been detained by the Israeli forces yesterday.

The video had shown the two girls attacking the heavily armed Israeli soldiers and slapping and kicking them after a family member was shot at and badly injured on Friday. The 15-year-old boy, Mohammed, is now receiving treatment at a hospital.
