US Secretary of State John Kerry began meeting Monday with his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif in Lausanne, Switzerland for crunch nuclear talks, a State Department official said.
The meeting comes at the start of a critical week in negotiations aimed at securing the outlines of a potentially historic deal over the Islamic republic's controversial nuclear programme by the end of the month.
