Chairman of the Federation of Egyptian Industries Mohamed Zaki el Sewedy was elected Sunday as head of the Support Egypt coalition by acclamation.

Of all 348 eligible voters, just 264 cast their ballots, representing 75.8 percent.

Also, MPs Mohamed Mostafa el Sallab, Ahmed Mohamed Zeidan, Nancy Samir Nosir, Sahar Talaat Mostafa, Hesham Emara, Abdel Hadi el Qasabi, Moataz el Saeed and Ashraf Emara won the membership of the coalition's political bureau.
