A Palestinian stabbed and wounded a settler whose home he broke into in the occupied West Bank before the Israeli shot him dead, the army said Wednesday.

The identity of the Palestinian was not immediately available. A military spokeswoman said the attack took place in Teneh Omarim, south of Hebron. The settler, 33, suffered light stab wounds to his limbs.
