US Vice President Mike Pence on Tuesday said that his country's longstanding alliance with Japan formed the "cornerstone" of peace in Northeast Asia.
"The alliance between the United States and Japan is the cornerstone of peace and security in Northeast Asia," he told Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe at the start of their talks in Tokyo.
