It is too early to make predictions on whether the European Union (EU) will expand its economic sanctions against Russia, Russia’s Permanent Representative to the EU, Vladimir Chizhov said on Thursday night.

In an interview, Chizhov noted that it is hard to be certain on the issue due to varying opinions inside the EU so "let’s not jump to conclusions", Tass news agency reported on Friday.

He pointed out that every six months, envoys of EU member states gather under the chairmanship of a European body.
