The Administrative Control Authority (ACA) raided a factory operated by a gang in El Salam industrial zone for getting gold from an excavation area affiliated to the Egyptian Mineral Resources Authority (EMRA).
The ACA's investigations revealed that the gang extracted a monthly average of 1.8 kilograms of gold from rocks smuggled from areas in the Eastern Desert whose value reaches around 1.2 million pounds.
The factory was raided where 177 tons of the raw rocks that produce 1.7 kilograms of gold were found.
