Music sales rose 5.9 percent in 2016 to mark the second straight year of solid growth on the back of a rapid expansion in streaming, the global industry body said Tuesday.
The International Federation of the Phonographic Industry said that revenue from streaming jumped 60 percent from a year earlier, outpacing a significant decline in digital downloads from platforms such as iTunes and, to a lesser extent, a fall in physical sales.
