Actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus of HBO's series

HBO's political satire "Veep" -- the story of a female US vice president and her bumbling staff -- on Sunday took home the Emmy for outstanding comedy series.

The series -- which also won acting Emmys for star Julia Louis-Dreyfus and co-star Tony Hale -- defeated "Louie," "Modern Family," "Parks and Recreation," "Silicon Valley," "Transparent" and "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt."
