UN Women Egypt organized on Tuesday the EU-funded closing session of a project on securing rights and improving women's livelihoods.

The project, supported by the UN Women Egypt and partners from government and non-governmental organizations, including the National Council for Women and the Social Solidarity Ministry, is meant to protect and enhance Egyptian women’s rights through three basic pillars.

The three pillars focus on political empowerment of women in public sphere and economic empowerment of women in Upper Egypt and impoverished areas, in addition to reducing violence against women in public spaces.
