President of the African Volleyball Confederation Amr Elwani expressed great happiness about organizing the 2017 FIVB Volleyball Men's U23 World Championship in Egypt.
Elwani, also serving as the FIVB vice president, added that Africa would provide as much support as possible for the organizing committee of the tournament, to be held on August 16-26 in Cairo. 
Meanwhile, he noted that Egypt has gained the world’s confidence after it successfully hosted several international tournaments.
On that score, Elwani stressed that the FIVB is considering the idea of organizing more championships in Cairo in recognition of its capabilities.
