Al Ahly club's board of directors decided to withdraw from the IHF Super Globe, to be hosted by Qatar on August 25-28, the club's executive director Sherine Shams said.
Al Ahly's withdrawal comes in solidarity with Egypt's decision to boycott Qatar, Shams told the club's official website.
The Red Devils' handball team qualified for the IHF Super Globe after defeating arch-rivals Zamalek in the African Super Cup match that was held in Morocco's Agadir.
