Within the framework of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, DEWA, keenness to support the leadership's directives to ensure that sports is part of the UAE culture, and an essential component of the daily agenda of its members, DEWA is sponsoring the 5th Nad Al-Sheba Sports Tournament.
The tournament is being held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Chairman of Dubai Executive Council and Chairman of Dubai Sports Council, under the slogan "Un-limited Capabilities".
The event is the largest of its kind during the Holy Month of Ramadan, in terms of the number of athletes participating and the variety of games listed.
Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, said, "DEWA is keen on supporting sports activities at all levels to strengthen the culture of interest in sports among the community, as Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, wants sports to become part of our lifestyle, to have a great impact on the improvement of spirit, body and behaviour, as well as spread happiness in society and preserve public health.
"We are pleased to sponsor the 5th NAS Sports Tournament, which has become the focus of sports fans of all ages. Its motto reflects the strong attention that our leadership places on this important category of our cohesive community," he added.
The number of sporting events in the fifth edition of NAS Sports Tournament has risen to 9 with prizes exceeding to AED 6 million. This year includes the Al Khair tent which supports the objectives of the #Year_of_Giving, and brings together various projects, especially for the youth of the country.
