Youths and Sports Minister Khaled Abdel Aziz hailed as "distinguished" the organization of the 2017 FIVB Volleyball Men's U23 World Championship that concluded in Cairo on Friday.
Argentina swept Russia off the court 4-2 (15-10, 15-11, 16-14, 14-16, 13-15, 15-9) to dethrone the defending champions and claim the gold medal.
It is Argentina's first ever world title in any volleyball competition.
Abdel Aziz participated in handing the gold medals to the Argentinean team, the silver medals to the Russian team that came second and the bronze medal to the Cuban team that came third.
Egypt has clinched the fifth place after defeating Japan 4-0.
