Minister of Youth and Sports Khaled Abdel Aziz and New Valley Governor Mohamed Al Zamalout launched Sunday bicycles marathon and cross country running race in the governorate to celebrate its national holiday.

The 10-km bicycles marathon started from the village of Jeddah and ended at the horse riding club in New Valley, as a number of residents of the governorate took part in the marathon, in addition to members of the Egyptian Cycling Federation.

Meanwhile, athletes of Al Ahly club and a number of young people from Qena and Sohag governorates participated in the 5 km cross country running race, which started from the village of Gormshen 7 and ended at the horse riding club.

Both events were organised by the Ministry of Youth and Sports in cooperation with the Egyptian Athletics Sports Federation.
