The fourth edition of "American Horror Story" will be set in the not so distant past, says Ryan Murphy, co-creator of the supernatural anthology series. "It's set in 1950," Murphy told EW.com. "If you look historically what happened in the year 1950, there's some more clues in that year. It's a period piece. We try and do the opposite of what we've done before. Jessica Lange has already started practicing her German accent so I'm very excited!" The first season of "AHS" was set in a haunted house in modern-day California, the second took place in a 1960s Massachusetts insane asylum and the third was set in contemporary Louisiana. Cast members Lange, Lily Rabe and Sarah Paulson have appeared as different characters in each of the three seasons.
