Christina Aguilera

Christina Aguilera has landed a guest role on Nashville.
The 34-year-old singer will appear on multiple episodes of the ABC series this spring. Aguilera will portray Jade St. John, a pop star who travels to Nashville to perform and explore her dream of recording a country album.
Aguilera's character will face resistance from her label, who wants her to remain on brand as a pop singer. E! News describes St. John as "a bird in a golden cage -- surrounded by her success, and trapped by it, too."
Nashville is in the midst of a third season, and airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET. The musical drama stars Connie Britton as Rayna Jaymes, Hayden Panettiere as Juliette Barnes and Clare Bowen as Scarlett O'Connor.
Aguilera released her seventh studio album, Lotus, in November 2012, and has a new record in the works. The singer took a leave of absence from NBC reality competition The Voice to care for new daughter, Summer Rain, but will return for season eight Feb. 23.
