Organized by Parco del Mincio and the Local Action Group (GAL) for the Moreniche Hills, cycling and walking excursions are ongoing until October 7, allowing visitors to enjoy the natural scenery and habitats, history, art and cuisine of the territories surrounding Garda. Percorrere le Colline Moreniche (“Traveling the Moreniche Hills”) is a free initiative featuring a calendar full of itineraries and excursions guided by experts in their respective fields: naturalists, tourist guides, archaeologists and members of the Voluntary Environmental Guard. Each experience is tailored to the discovery of something special and unique: from rare blooms and Neolithic Dwellings (added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2011), to the imposing erratic masses that narrate the glacial and geological history of the area and the perfectly preserved castles. Not only, but pristine lakes, the valley that served as a battle theatre during the Italian Risorgimento, the lands that inspired the beginnings of the International Committee of the Red Cross, and of course the delicious tastes of this space between Garda and Mantua: including D.O.C. wines to be tasted in historic wineries, snacks and aperitifs based on cold cut delicacies, and breads and baked goods. All the activities are free and take place inside the various Communes making up the Park – in turn, the participating Communes comprise the Local Action Group or GAL – they include Ponti sul Mincio, Monzambano and Volta Mantovana. The event\'s “green” itineraries run in the Communes of Cavriana a Solferino and Castiglione delle Stiviere. From / ITALIA
