As for the encroachments on agricultural lands, the prime minister put their total at 1.930 feddans, 1.7 million (87%) of them have been removed.
The rest are in areas with high population or lands that were used as tombs, said Ismail, adding that the state studies suitable alternatives to address them.
He said the next period will see a higher role for governors in maintaining the state-owned land. He noted that work is underway to legalize the statuses of lands that are eligible for this.
The premier thanked the higher committee on restoring state-owned lands under Ibrahim Mahlab, the president's assistant for national projects and former prime minister, for its efforts and coordination with all parties.
He thanked also the Armed Forced, security troops for their effective participation in securing raids to remove encroachments.
He said that laws will be tightened to prevent any future violations.
