Suhail bin Mohammed Faraj Faris Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy, unveiled on Wednesday the logo of the World Energy Congress that will be held in Abu Dhabi in 2019 under the patronage of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The ceremony was attended by Khalid Al Falih, Saudi Minister of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources; Essam Al Marzouq Kuwaiti Minister of Oil; Dr. Mohammed bin Hamad Al Rumhy, Omani Minister of Oil and Gas; Mohammed bin Saleh Al Sada, Qatari Minister of Energy and Industry; Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Bahraini Minister of Oil; Mohammad Sanusi Barkindo, OPEC Secretary-General; Abbas Ali Al Naqi, Secretary-General of the Organisation of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries, OAPEC; Abdullah bin Hamad Al Attiyah, Former Minister of Energy and Industry in Qatar, governmental officials and experts in the field of oil and gas and the national committees of the World Energy Council.

The logo, which was designed by Emirati Amal Shuhail who works at the Ministry of Energy, to reflect the national identity, specifically focussing on the most prominent Abu Dhabi landmarks including the Sheikh Zayed Mosque and other iconic features that tell of the country's genuine traditions.

Suhail Al Mazrouei said that the logo of the World Energy Congress is considered a true representation of Emirati heritage and its rich history, while highlighting sustainability.

The UAE is the first country in the Middle East to host the international congress. The organising committee of the World Energy Congress 2019 promised that it will set a new standard for similar events.
