More than 1,000 fowls in a flock in Vietnam's southern Tra Vinh province have been found to be infected with A/H5N1 avian flu, local newspaper Vietnam News reported Thursday.
Local authorities have destroyed all the dead fowls and culled the remaining 126 ones. The flock, including 1,000 chickens and 18 ducks, belonged to a farmer in Nhi Long Phu commune, Cang Long District.
The commune was affected twice by avian flu outbreaks that occurred in February and March of 2014.
