Iran\'s largest carmaker, Iran-Khodro Company (IKCO), announced that it has decided to present the hatchback model of its newly self-developed sedan, Runna in order to meet customers\' satisfaction and preference, especially young car lovers. Given the fact that the intellectual property of Runna belongs to IKCO, the company intends to add to the diversification of the car and produce the hatchback type too. Seyed Ahmad Modir Ghomi, the manager of the engineering department announced that the production of hatchback Runna would be started in early 2014. According to Runna project manager, hatchback Runna would enjoy the same 1600cc engine under the hood that powers the sedan model, but later it would be outfitted with IKCO EF7 engine too. The manager of the engineering department enunciated target markets\' interest in IKCO Runna, and said, \"The most important target markets for IKCO Runna are CIS countries like Russia, Belarus, Ukraine and the Middle East countries like Iraq and Tunisia. IKCO plans to allocate 30 present of Runna production portfolio to the hatchback model and the rest to the sedan one, but it is the market that determines the figures in the future. Runna is IKCO\'s second self-developed car, designed and developed after Samand. Prior to this, IKCO had presented Runna sedan that was warmly welcomed by the customers. Runna has been designed and developed by Iranian engineers without any help from foreign sources. Runna has been designed to develop IKCO brand and platforms. The car meets the most recent world standard requirements in emission, safety, durability and quality. IKCO plans to produce hatchback Runna in Belarus, Azerbaijan, Egypt, Syria, Senegal and Venezuela as well as Iran\'s domestic production plants. The company intends to export the car to the Middle East and West of Asia, Russia and CIS region countries, West and North Africa and South America.
