Hyundai Motor Group, the world's fifth-largest automotive conglomerate, said Monday its new Genesis premium sedan, its i10 super-mini car and the second generation Soul boxy compact all received top rated international design awards. The group said the Genesis and i10, made by Hyundai Motor Co., and Soul, produced by sister company Kia Motors Corp., were named winners in the transportation segment of the 2014 Red Dot Design Award event in Germany on Monday. The awards are welcome news for Hyundai and Kia as they push to expand their market presence in Europe this year.
