Based on the principle of reciprocity, the Transport Ministry issued a decision on Tuesday prohibiting the entry of all types of Saudi vehicles into Syria. The decision prohibits the entry of Saudi shipping trucks (both regular and refrigerator trucks), large and medium-sized transport vehicles (busses and minibuses), passenger cars (both private and taxis) into Syria as of Tuesday 31/12/2013 and until further notice. The Ministry said this decision is based on the agreement for regulating transit of persons and goods on land roads between the Syrian and Saudi governments, an agreement which is based on reciprocity.
