The British brand has gone all out with their stylish new station wagon. From the B-pillar backwards, the new XF Sportbrake is entirely new and according to Jaguar has \'a very different aesthetic, exemplified by the tautly-drawn elegance of the side-window line and highlighted by its polished finish.\'One of its most striking features is the headlights, which share the same new lightblade headlamp technology as the saloon and feature bi-function HID xenon technology and LED daytime-running lights arranged in a Jaguar \'J-Blade\' pattern. It also has a more upright grille and propeller-inspired blades fitted to the side air intakes. At the back, rear lamps also feature LED technology, rear pillars get a gloss black finish and the rear screen has been tinted. Polished roof rails are also offered as an option.Aero and Black exterior design packs are available that offer buyers the chance to add different bumpers, side sills, enhance the rear spoiler and replace exterior finishes such as the alloys. Powertrains come in the form of a 4-cylinder 2.2-liter and 3.0-liter V6 diesel, both of which are mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox that drives the rear wheels. The range-topping \'S\' model produces 270hp and 442lb-ft of torque.Self-leveling air suspension replaces standard coil springs at the rear, while the Jaguar Adaptive Dynamics system via active dampers continuously monitors the suspension and can alter damping rates up to 500 times a second. This helps to achieve identical ride and handling as the sedan and keeps the car level when full. At the touch of a button drivers can also alter suspension and throttle response parameters. Safety features include Adaptive Front Lighting and Cruise Control, an Intelligent Emergency Brake system.Inside, a centrally-mounted touch-screen controls the navigation system and the switchgear features soft-touch matt black paint and a soft phosphor blue illumination theme.Sculpted front seats feature a \'racetrack\' design for a sporting bucket seat effect, while entirely new rear seats allows generous seating for five and feature an integral ski hatch and a 60:40 split. An extended roofline has resulted in rear passengers gaining an additional 48mm of headroom. Boot space in the XF Sportbrake is 550-liters with the rear seats unfolded, with total volume increasing to 1,675 liters when down Remote fold levers mounted within the boot area lower the rear seats and when the tailgate opens LEDs light onto the ground.\"The XF Sportbrake matches the saloon in both aerodynamics and torsional stiffness. The use of air suspension has allowed us to create a car that captures the unique Jaguar combination of refinement and outstanding dynamic abilities regardless of its load.\" Mike Cross, Chief Engineer, Vehicle Integrity.Watch out for the new XF Sportbrake at the Geneva Motor Show where it will make its public debut before hitting showrooms later this year.
