The Rolls-Royce Phantom was introduced in 2003 and, despite being mostly unchanged, is still regarded as one of the most luxurious cars on sale. But these spy pictures reveal there will be a few mild updates in 2012. As you can see from the pictures, the exterior changes will be minimal with just a few changes to the headlights and front bumper. The foglights that sit proudly below the headlamps on the current model are actually just decals on this prototype and could be ditched completely for the production model. Mechanical changes will concentrate on further refining the Phantom’s ride comfort, reducing CO2 emissions and improving performance. As it stands, the Phantom emits 377g/km of CO2 and claims 18mpg. Interior changes will most likely stretch to updating some of the software and systems like the sat-nav, to incorporate BMW’s latest technology.
