Shubra el Kheima Court ordered on Sunday the release of journalist Amr Badr on EGP 5,000 bail pending investigations.

Badr has been facing charges of spreading false news, inciting protests and plotting to overthrow the regime. 

Badr and journalist Mahmoud el Sakka were arrested at the Press Syndicate headquarters as they were staging a sit-in to protest against their arrest warrants.
