Cairo - MENA
The sixth session of executive office of the Arab Information Ministers Council began Wednesday with the participation of representatives of media federations and organizations.
Addressing the opening session, Egyptian Media Undersecretary Ibrahim Iraqi called for enhancing media efforts aiming at confronting terrorism and regional challenges.
He warned of the serious role the media could play in the time being, saying media should play a positive role but instead some of them have now become a partner in inciting crimes and spreading panic and frustration in the society.
The current session will discuss 11 recommendations sent by the Permanent Committee of Arab Media covering, among other issues, the Palestinian cause and the Arab media strategy.
