Berlin - MENA
Egyptian Ambassador in Berlin Badr Abdel Ati met on Tuesday with representatives of a number of well-known media outlets in Germany to convey to them the real image on the events in Egypt with the aim of correcting the distorted image about the country.
The diplomat reviewed with the media people the latest political developments in Egypt and explained to them the road map which ends with the election of a new parliament within a few months.
He posted them on the cause of the July 30 revolution and practices of the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood group during the era of ousted president Mohamed Morsi.
Abdel-Ati rejected, during the meeting, Western media reports on the presence of thousands of detainees in Egyptian jails and mass trials and execution verdicts, saying that the in-absentia verdicts are usually annulled when the defendants turn themselves in to authorities.
He called for more cooperation between Egypt and Germany to achieve stability in the Middle East and combat terrorist organizations and organized crimes as well as the fight against human trafficking.
