Under the patronage of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Saudi Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Ali bin Ibrahim Al-Naimi inaugurated the Arab Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)'s second Petroleum Media Forum.
The Forum was attended by GCC Ministers of Petroleum and Energy which began on Sunday, according to the Saudi official news agency (SPA).
On the occasion, engineer Al-Naimi on Monday delivered a speech at the 2nd GCC Petroleum Media Forum in which he stressed the importance of media's message in the oil field in the GCC institutions and societies.
He said that to ensure the continuation of this meeting by the GCC Ministries of Petroleum and National Oil Companies countries, it may be appropriate to put forward the idea of creating a 'Specialized Association for Petroleum Media' including the specialized GCC and Arab media personnel in energy affairs, stressing that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia would support such association in case of its founding to contribute to the increased transparency of GCC-member States and making strategy on petroleum policies, SPA reported.
