KUNA director general Sheikh Mubarak Al-Duaij Al-Ibrahim Al-Sabah underscored the importance of the first meeting of the secretariat general commission of the Federation of Arab News Agencies (FANA), citing its rich agenda.
In a press statement, Sheikh Mubarak Al-Duaij welcomed the meeting scheduled to take place in Kuwait from 23 - 25 May for representatives of Arab news agencies, depicting it as an important station for more Arab cooperation in the field of media.
He said the meeting would provide effective contribution to upgrade Arab news agencies performance and enhance their role in conveying facts, information and news with the needed objectivity and credibility and benefiting from the sizable technological progress at hand.
He pointed that the meeting receives great importance as it would focus on upgrading the press skills, and protection of journalists from possible risks while on duty.
Among the agenda are the preparation for the 43rd general assembly in November 2015 in Kuwait of FANA in addition to organizing training courses with international media foundations and other issues.
