Riyadh - KUNA
The Gulf Excellence Award held the second session for the 2014-15 season, with Kuwait winning first and second places in the health media campaign category.
The Award is organized by the GCC Executive Office of the Council of Health Ministers.
The winners were Dr. Abeer Al-Bahouh and CEO of AG Events Ahmad Al-Ibrahim.
The Award contributes in shedding light on the role and responsibility of health media in the GCC states as key partners in development programs and health policies in various fields.
Assistant Undersecretary for Technical Affairs at the Kuwaiti Ministry of Health Dr. Qais Al-Duwairi told KUNA media is seen as a "pillar" in promoting health awareness and spreading preventive culture.
The Award's value was raised from USD 50,000 to USD 100,000. Domains of the award have also been increased to seven, instead of five.
The Executive Office convened earlier today to prepare for the 78th conference of the ministerial council, slated for Wednesday.
The conferees tackled a wide array of key and technical issues relative to the development of healthcare cooperation among member states.
