Cairo - MENA
Cairo Criminal Court allowed Sunday local and foreign media representatives to attend Tuesday session to utter rulings against former president Mohamed Morsi and 106 terrorist Muslim Brotherhood (MB) members in the espionage and mass prison break cases after taking the opinion of the country's Mufti.
Morsi and his fellow defendants, including MB top leader Mohammad Badie, were convicted of killing and kidnapping policemen, attacking police facilities and breaking out of jail during the uprising against ousted president Hosni Mubarak.
The rulings, like all capital sentences, were referred to the Grand Mufti for opinion.
Also the same court sentenced MB leader Khairat el-Shater and 15 others for conspiring with foreign militant groups against Egypt.
Morsi and the other defendants can still appeal the verdicts.
