The head of National Media Authority Hassan Zein mourned on Saturday writer and scenarist Mahfouz Abdelrahman, who passed away earlier today.

Zein said that Adelrahman left great works that inspired Egyptian and Arab viewers.

"We lost a great arts value with milestones in the historical drama TV domain," Zein said.

Abdelrahman is well known for TV series such as Bawbet El Halawany, Antra, Soliman El Halaby and Om Kalthoum.
