The US First Lady gained almost 14,000 followers in less than 24 hours after she joined the social photo-sharing network on Wednesday night. The pictures include gardening at the White House, doing push-ups with talk show host Ellen DeGeneres, black-and-white snapshots with Barack Obama in 1992, the year they married, and a behind-the-scenes shot at the President\'s inauguration in 2009. There are also images of Mrs Obama\'s parents and of Mr Obama coaching basketball and teaching daughters Malia and Sasha how to skip rocks on a lake during a 2010 holiday at Acadia National Park, Maine. The photographs are displayed in online albums titled Father\'s Day, Around the White House and Great Memories. Mrs Obama\'s account is run by Obama 2012 campaign staff but she adds many of the pins herself, signing off with \"-mo\". She also has accounts on Facebook, where she is \"liked\" by 7.6 million, and on Twitter, where she has more than a million followers. Pinterest users can \"pin\" photographs to create photo collections known as pinboards based on their interests. Pins can be repinned or liked, profiles can be followed and users can follow or contribute to other members\' boards. Pinterest was launched in March 2010 and despite remaining accessible by invitation only, it has more than 11.5 million users worldwide - mostly women.
