Singapore - MENA
The media in Singapore has spoken highly of an upcoming visit by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to the country and called it important.
The Straits Times newspaper said Saturday that it is the first time an Egyptian president will visit Singapore since diplomatic relations were established 50 years ago.
The paper also touched upon Egypt's outstanding role in support of Singapore.
Cairo was among the first governments to recognize the independence of Singapore in the 60s, the paper said, adding that Sisi's visit coincides with the 50th anniversary of Singapore's independence.
