Two Sudanese newspapers highlighted statements by Egyptian Awqaf Minister Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa warning against the dangers of extremist religious groups.
Gomaa, who concluded a visit to Sudan on Friday, had described extremists as "mercenaries".
Sudanese "Akhbar Al Youm" newspaper out Saturday cited the Egyptian minister as saying that some powers had created those terrorists to carry out their political agendas and fragment the Arab nation.
Gomaa warned that terrorism used to target the stability of countries but now it targets their existence, the newspaper said.
Meanwhile, "Al Ray Al Aam" quoted him as saying that enemies want to divide Arab countries into militias to take over their oil and strategic resources easily.
The Egyptian Awqaf minister concluded Friday a four-day visit to the neighboring country, during which he met his Sudanese counterpart and a number of officials and religious leaders.
