London - KUNA
The United Kingdom has denounced the killing of the Japanese hostage Kenji Goto by the Islamic State militants (ISIL).
The killing of the Japanese hostage shows another example of ISIL's underestimation of human lives, UK Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond in press remarks.
He extended his condolences to the victim's family, friends and the Japanese people.
He added that the UK stands beside Japan in encountering terrorism, saying that his country will not allow ISIL's brutality to achieve its goals.
Hammond hailed Japan's commitment to support peace and stability in the Middle East, especially through the humanitarian aid it offers.
ISIL broadcast last night a video showing the beheading of the second Japanese hostage Kenji Goto after the deadline to release him in exchange for Iraqi criminal Sajdah Al-Reshawi had ended.
