Ali Hassan Mohamed Abdel Baqi was named by the National Press Authority as the new Board Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of the Middle East News Agency.
Following is his own CV: 
Abdel Baqi graduated from the Faculty of Arts, Ain Shams University, in 1980, topping his class.
He joined the MENA in 1980, where he assumed several editorial posts.
In 2011, Abdel Baqi was appointed as a deputy chief editor and head of the news sector.
He has been elected as a board member of MENA since 2011.
Abdel Baqi chaired the MENA's bureau in Tripoli, Libya, during the period from 1996 to 1999.
He served as a judicial editor over a period of 36 years, during which he covered trials of political figures, as well as corruption and terrorism cases.
He has been elected as a chairman of the association of board members of national press institutions in 2015.
Throughout his career, Abdel Baqi covered many important events, including Arab summits and conferences of the Arab Lawyers Union.
He also interviewed a wide range of presidents and prime ministers from all over the world.
Abdel Baqi, as an active member of Egyptian popular diplomacy delegations, visited many countries, such as Russia, the US, China, Switzerland, Germany, Italy and Greece, following the June 30 revolution to brief them on the real situation in Egypt.
He participated in many international conferences in Lebanon, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Iraq, Bahrain, Libya, Sudan, Ethiopia and others.
He delivered political and judicial lectures at the Arab League, as well as many universities and cultural and research centers.
He participated in many events organized by the National Council For Youth to spread awareness about laws of parliament election.
