The three major dailies focused on the fatal shooting of a Palestinian by Israeli soldiers near Ramallah, allegedly after he ran over an injured three soldiers.
They said Israeli soldiers opened fire and killed Ahmad Riyadh Shehadeh, 36, from Qalandia refugee camp near Jerusalem, allegedly after he ran over and injured three Israeli troops near the town of Beitunia, west of Ramallah.
On a different subject, al-Quds and al-Ayyam said Israeli forces demolished the family home of Palestinian prisoner Zaid al-Amer, from Nablus, who is accused of partaking on an armed attack which killed two Israeli soldiers near Nablus in early October 2015.
The dailies said an Israeli court has handed down a life sentence and 20 years to the ringleader of a Jewish gang that kidnapped, beat and burned alive Palestinian teenager Mohammad Abu Khdeir in July 2014.
The major dailies said a UN committee maintained that Israel’s use of solitary confinement of Palestinians has multiplied throughout the last two years. The same committee condemned the interrogation methods and techniques by used by Israeli authorities.
The dailies reported that the Palestinian cabinet, in the weekly meeting on Tuesday, confirmed that the municipal elections will be held in October 2016 and without any delays.
Al-Ayyam and Al-Hayat Al-Jadida dailies reported that President Mahmoud Abbas, during a meeting with the Norwegian Foreign Minister in Ramallah, confirmed the importance of international support to the French peace initiative.
Al-Hayat Al-Jadida quoted Tzipi Livni, former Israeli Minister of Justice, who said that Israel’s attempt to annex the West Bank will lead to a bi-national state with a Palestinian majority in the Knesset.
