A number of local and foreign investors have submitted fake bank statements in their applications on the Invest Easy portal, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) has learned.

The Ministry calls upon all investors wishing to invest in the Sultanate not to exploit the facilities and to ensure that legally verified documents are attached during the application process. 

The ministry also said it has referred some cases to the competent authorities for legal action and it is in the process of verifying other applications.
