Ramallah - WAFA
News about the ceasefire agreement that was announced between Palestinian factions in Gaza and Israel hit the front pages of the three Arabic Palestinian dailies on Sunday.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida, al-Quds and al-Ayyam said that Palestinian Islamic Jihad group in the Gaza Strip reached a ceasefire agreement with Israel after talks with an Egyptian delegation.
The dailies reported that a Palestinian identified as Ziad Zaki Akel, 23, from Nusseirat refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip, died early Saturday of wounds sustained during the Friday protests at the border fence with Israel.
Al-Ayyam and al-Hayat al-Jadida said that two Palestinians were injured on Saturday evening when they were run over by an Israeli military vehicle, after Israeli forces raided the village of Azzoun in Qalqilia district in the occupied West Bank.
The World Bank has increased this year’s allocation to Palestine to $90 million, up from the previous $55 million, as reported by al-Hayat al-Jadida.
Al-Quds said that the Central Council is set to start its meeting today in the presidential headquarters in the city of Ramallah.
