Washington - Arab Today
A new culinary TV series is rolling out worldwide that takes viewers into the kitchens of some of the most influential chefs on the globe, including Ferran Adrià, Daniel Humm and Michel Bras.
Unlike competitive eating shows, chef showdowns and restaurant makeover series, “The World’s Best Chefs” takes the food dialogue to a different level, going behind the scenes into the restaurants of a dozen chefs who’ve been chosen for representing the zeitgeist of contemporary gastronomy and avant-garde cuisine.
Host Katie Button, who’s worked at some of top restaurants around the world including elBulli, minibar, and Jean Georges, picks the brains of culinary trailblazers who share their philosophies on food and let cameras capture their creative process and work in the kitchen.
The roster of chefs is dominated by names from the US and Europe, notably with five Spanish chefs.
And while South America is represented by Brazilian chef Alex Atala and Peruvian chef Gaston Acurio, the series is conspicuously absent of chefs and restaurant from Asia.
The series debuted on NatGeo Asia last week, and premieres on FOXLife network in Spain and the Voyage network in France this month.
No word on whether or not the series has a US air date yet.
Here are the chefs profiled in the series:
Massimo Bottura, Italy
Michel Bras, France
Andoni Luis Aduriz, Spain
Joan Roca, Spain
Grant Achatz, US
José Andrés, US
Alex Atala, Brazil
Gaston Acurio, Peru
