The Supreme Council for Media Regulation on Wednesday received an official statement from the Ministry of Interior on the living conditions of former president Mohamed Morsi in the jail.
The move came on the back of a call by the council on President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to refer allegations by the Muslim Brotherhood group, that Morsi and MB leaders are ill-treated in prisons, to the prosecution.
In statements to MENA, Head of the Supreme Council for Media Regulation Makram Mohamed Ahmed said that two senior officers visited the council and affirmed that Morsi received his family and lawyer according to the law.
They stressed that Morsi’s room is well-equipped, allowing him to have good living conditions and to have a better health, according to medical reports, Ahmed added.
