Online patent registration

The Sabah Al-Ahmad Center for Creativity and Giftedness will use an online web site as of next year as a new approach to vet patent applications by inventors, said an official from the Center on Thursday.
Khalid Al-Hassan, an advisor for inventors at the Center, said in a press statement on the sideline of the 7th Middle East Inventions Fair, being held here, that the online vetting service will be helpful to inventors who submit their inventions for evaluation by the Center. In effect, he said, the online service will expedite for the inventors their ability to obtain patents for their inventions from internationally-recognized organizations.
He said up to 20 inventions from Kuwait are exhibited at the fair this year, among them one which is a device to monitor electricity consumption, by the Kuwaiti inventor Mohammad Al-Mutawa'a. Another is a device that stores solar energy by the Kuwaiti inventor Jassim Kamil, and yet another is a portable ice chest operable with solar energy by the Kuwaiti inventor Hafeth Al-Rashid.
Invention entries this year will be evaluated for top prizes by a panel of 29 jundegs.
