The National Oil and Gas Authority (NOGA)has recently launched its official page “National Oil & Gas Authority”on the largest business and professional network “LinkedIn”.
This initiative has come – in addition to the existing Instagram and Youtube accounts – from NOGA’s Strategies & International Relations department with the objective keeping abreast of such platforms and get connected with other entities, businesses, professionals …etc.
According to 2016 statistics, LinkedInhas more than 467 million accounts, among which are professionals, engineers, technicians and others related to the oil sector and other industries
Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, the Minister of Oil, has praised the efficient work of the Strategies andInternational Relations department, and its active presence across the Internet and social networking sites. Shaikh Mohamed has appreciated the adoption by thedepartment of the contemporary media tools for increased connection with various audiences.
NOGA’s LinkedIn account will enhance the spread of resourceful information on activities and events of the oil and gas sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain. NOGA is regularly evaluating strategic projects and objectives, which arecontributing to the Bahrain Economic Vision 2030 for the bestinterest ofpublic welfare.
This step forward of launching “LinkedIn” page comes in line with NOGA’s strategies of keeping pace with the latest developmental trends in order to get connected with other professional social networking platforms, professionals and the Bahrain public particularly that today the number of Internet users are about 2.6 billion, which represents 70% of the total Internet users in the world.
The number of Internet users around the world is about 3.4 billion. The years2015 and 2016 have witnessed a rise in the number of social networking users by 29% according to a report published by the world’s leading research and advisory company”Gartner”, which noted that the mainreason for this is the wide circle of smartphones users, sales of which exceeded 1.9 billion devices in 2016.
Dr. Ahmed Al Sharyan, the Secretary General of NOGA, has commended the efforts exerted by the Strategies and International Relations members to be in line with the new generation life style, hoping to always move forward in achieving high efficiency, achieve higher levels of productivity and consolidate a culture of excellence and attractive environment for creativity and innovation with spirit of competitiveness and teamwork in order to achieve the strategic objectives of the authority.
