German TV group ProSiebenSat.1 will enter the world of internet television: The Munich-based broadcaster wants to launch a web-TV channel on its video portal MyVideo in 2013. A daily linear live programme will be transmitted spanning several hours, Markan Karajica, managing director of ProSiebenSat.1 Digital, told German industry magazine "w&". For MyVideo Live, as the service will be called, Karajica is currently building two studios at the company's headquarters in Unterföhring. The new TV formats will be produced there. "We will initially focus on the genres music, sports, gaming and web trends," Karajica explained. The service will target young audience groups at first. One of the programmes for MyVideo Live is currently developed by German comedian and actor Michael "Bully" Herbig under the title "Bully-Base". The first thrust into this area has already been made: Each Friday at 18.00 CET MyVideo screens live gaming show "Let's play together" which is viewed by up to 20,000 users per edition. Despite the expansion, MyVideo will remain financed solely through advertising. "Payment models are only used at maxdome from which MyVideo will remain clearly separated," Karajica stressed. ProSiebenSat.1 instead wants both of its video portals to benefit from each other, for example through cross-linking or cross-promotion.
