The Interior Ministry's Information technology and communications sector have launched an extensive campaign to combat crimes and follow up inflammatory pages on the social media.

This campaign, according to Interior Minister Magdy Abdel Ghaffar's directives, resulted in closing six accounts, as they were accused of supporting violence against institutions and terrorism.

The campaign led to the arrest of 65 persons believed to be involved in blackmailing cases. The prosecution was notified to start a probe.
