The new school year 2011/2012 begins Thursday for 210.000 students out of whom 20.000 first-grade pupils and 90.000 high school students. Due to high temperatures the Ministry of Education and Health Ministry recommended the classes Thursday and Friday to be shortened. Obligatory remedial and extra instruction, schools for parents whose children have failing grades, e-grade book and external testing of students are the novelties for this school year. The changes of laws of primary and secondary education, which were passed in the spring, include education component and bigger parents’ inclusion.
