Mr. Wen Jiabao

Several new cooperation agreements were signed during third edition of the Regional Forum Poland-China here on Monday.

Agreements included those between the Chinese city of Chengdu and Polish city of Lodz, Dujiangyan and Koluszki and the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education with Henan Province.

Polish think tank Poland-Asia Research Center signed a cooperation agreement with the Shanghai University of International Business and Economics, while the Czestochowa University of Technology partnered with Shenyang Jianzhu University.

Polish Minister of Foreign Affairs Grzegorz Schetyna told the forum: "Poland recognizes the growing activity of China at the international stage, and that China, as one of two biggest world's economy entities, has its own vision of the development of multilateral, multidimensional cooperation."

"Poland is ready to meet this vision and search for the areas of bigger mutual cooperation," Schetyna added.

Chinese Ambassador to Poland Xu Jian underlined the importance of the "Belt and Road" initiatives and Poland's importance in this project as a country in the center of Europe.

He also expressed hope for closer bilateral cooperation, including the necessity of cooperation on the local level.

The Regional Forum Poland-China began after the visit of Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski to the People's Republic of China in December 2011 and the signing of "strategic partnership" agreement between the two countries.
